Anyway, with the 1000 Pokemon thing; I can believe that. We have many more species of animals than Pokemon, so it's believable (ranging to the 20 mils, here). Hell, we still don't know how many animals are there in the entire world. Many animals to this day are still undiscovered, even more deep in the oceans.

Well unlike most games and anime Pokemon has turned into a culture all of its own and is closer to an actual business at this point. And like any business they'll continue as long as a source is profitable. The concept of Pokemon itself is elastic enough that they can keep on going nearly forever by just adding new Pokemon and new places to go. And even though there are fewer and fewer that remember the early generations each new version can stand by itself without the need for the others, which allows for newer gamers to come into the fold with little to no need to catch up on storyline.

But the only reason I'll be complaining is that with every new generation they're tempting me to keep buying their games. And they usually win...
