@naraku, there are several, the common one is once a Pokemon is knocked out, you can't use it again. Others would be you can only use the first pokemon you encounter when you enter a new area, or you can't use the pokemon centers, etc.

oh well how i am doing it is i can only catch the first pokemon in each area and if it is knocked out i can't use them again. if i find a shiny though i am catching it no matter whatx

When it comes to the tournament I might do well cause I know what to do for building tournament quality Pokemon but I didn't take full time to max IVs and I don't have the active experience either. I would have to grab the Pokemon from Diamond though. They're the ones that are lvl 100 and fully breed/trained. Jack probably has far more experience than I do. But it would be fun.

Already useful. Thanks to them I finally got the shiny Haxorus. Now just starting to work on filling out the National Dex for the Round and Shiny Charms.

I have this feeling that 8 boxes in the PC isn't right. I've already beaten the elite four and i haven't got any more boxes. Am I missing anything? And is there a quicker way to migrate pokemon from black to black 2 besides from trading?

Then, do it again, with at least a single Pokemon in each of the 16 boxes. Exit and then log back in again and it will be 24 boxes, enough for 720 pokemon. Hope that this helps. And no, I don't think there's a faster way than trading. |

Yeah, I'm like, 12 pokemon away from completing my Unova dex. I'm glad you don't need Melottea to finish it.

Pichu's Rufflet gave me my last spot filled for the Unova Dex. Considering that it only concentrates on what you've seen and not what you've caught makes things a little easier. Though filling out the National Dex will need to be both. It'll be easy for me from now on considering I have my Diamond Dex full but it will be time consuming as hell. Though the two charms you get at the end are well worth it.
And how did you get Melottea already Adam? It's one of the three that I don't have access to get in the dex data and I'd like to eventually fill out as many of those spots as I can.
Midnight - Pichu's right, trading is the fastest way. Bringing them over from Gen IV using the transfer system is faster, but it's a one way trip.

Luckily they changed the trading system so now you can trade pokemon still in your PC rather than only the ones in your six slots. That made trading in gen 4 a pain.
