Well as has laready been said Wubbzy, RPGs are where you take the role of the character and explore the world that way. Growing in power and facing various challenges along the way, ranging from puzzles to battles. Usually they play in a D&D or Final Fantasy type of fashion but those are just two of the more well known and recognized forms.
Let's see, as for my list over the years: N64, GameBoy Color, Game Cube, GameBoy Advance SP, X-Box, X-Box 360, PS3, GameBoy DS, and I have easy access to a Wii and have a couple games for it though I don't own it.

I would have had more consoles if they were cheaper where I live or cheaper to import. How do guys afford so many consoles? I'm not poor or anything but damn.
Even though I'm a PC gamer, I've only upgraded my PC twice. First upgraded to Pentium 4 when it was released and upgraded to quadcore 1 year ago. Also, graphic card upgrades every 3 years or so.
