I haven't actually played any of these games yet *dodges rotten tomatoes*
Which of the games would you guys recommend I play first? Or do they have to be played in a specific order?

@muffin
I'd recommend starting with Ocarina of Time, because it's kind of the 'original' in a sense. But you don't necessarily have to start with it. Twilight Princess is pretty easy on controls as well, and maybe even Wind Waker. I heard Skyward Sword was ok, but I can't bring myself to bring it. It's not the controls, it's just. Eh.

Yeah, Ocarina of Time has always been known to be the "One game to rule them all" XD

Well Sara most of the Zelda games don't have to be played in any order. Each has their own story that makes sense if you haven't played the others but if you played pervious installments you will see some things in the story that you would normally miss if you don't.
If you want to start somewhere I would suggest OoT since it is the most popular and easy to get into. You will get a feel of the Zelda mechanics that are used in most of the Zelda games.

Okay, since the majority of you recommended OoT I'll look into getting that one first ;D

Let's see, I've played a Link to the Past, OoT (both original and Master Quest), Majora's Mask, Windwaker, Four Swords, and Twilight Princess.
I really liked Twilight's game play and Majora's was better than more people gave it credit, simply because it came out on the same system as Ocarina, but Ocarina still has to be my favorite. Master Quest gave it a nice twist and enough of a change that I didn't have virtually every place and item memorized.
Need to either buy or steal Skyward Sword from one of my friends for a while, considering I've been wanting to see it ever since I heard of it coming out. Also need to consider if I should buy a Wii. Atm I kinda manipulated my parents into buying a Wii (so that my mom could use WiiFit, which to this day I don't think she has) and just used that. I was only really planning on buying Twilight Princess anyways so it seemed a waste to buy the system for one game.
Though I do agree that Ocarina of Time is your best bet to start the series Sara. The connections that each game has to another is rather slim outside of reusing characters and Ocarina is long enough to keep you entertained, a fun story to follow, and enough puzzles and boss fights that'll get you thinking when you first encounter them.
