Title says it all.
1. The Advanceshipping fanfics always seem to be so creative and stand out from the crowd. 2. The community of satoharu fans are so friendly. 3. Ash and May are really cool characters. 4. The ship really stands out from the other ships I support because it's a friendship based ship, but it's more than just cute. 5. I think the pair of them had mutual respect and I think they would have been in a happy and healthy relationship, but also an entertaining one.

A countdown time!
10. Ash always watches over May's Back 9. Ash was the most mature in those seasons, teaching May everything he knew 8. May is a really likable character, as well as Ash 7. Both interactions between them are awesome 6. It is one of the more hipster ash couples

5. They both look really good together. Superficial, but that's why it's number five. Seriously though, they're so adorable together. Fanarts help establish this as well. Also, any of the other Ash shippings at the time (Pokeshipping), never really appealed to me since Misty kind of annoyed me. 4. Their personalities make them compatible to me. Seriously, May's easy going personality and Ash's really makes them similar, yet different at the same time. I really like their similarities. Their love for food, their desire to win, their ambitions to defeat their rivals and come out victorious, their love for pokemon (now anyways). This will correlate to the second reason why I like them together. 3. This one will also go with the second reason, but I love how Ash changes in AG for the better. I like how their relationship is the only relationship I came across in pokemon that have their kind of relationship, so beautiful. I mean, pearlshipping does come close, but it doesn't have what advanceshipping has, with the mentoring and that closeness (they are close, don't get me wrong, but not like Ash and May). I like that Ash's interactions towards May is so different than any other girl he's traveled with. 2. I love how their relationship progresses. It's really beautiful, really. They start out as friends, and I love how forgiving May is in that first episode. How she can easily forgive Ash about her bike. Then we see Ash teaching her how to catch a pokemon, or how he helps her in general with showing her things like the pokemon center. I don't know, but that really touched me. This, to me, really showed Ash's development and maturity. Never had he acted this way. And I see this as great character development because this begins the growth of their unbreakable bond. I love how they progress, especially in the second season, from being not only close friends, but confidants in each other. Not only does May look to Ash for comfort, and Ash's able to make her feel better (like in Cruisin for A Losin or Date Expectations), but then we have all these great moments between them that show how much they care for each other. Their progress really escalates their. 1. The community. It's number one because your love for Advanceshipping has really brought my love for it to the forefront of my mind again. Before I came to bulba and met all of you, I was scrambling for anything remotely good for an advanceshipping plot. It wasn't until I got to meet all of you that the imagination train stopped at my station. Besides that, you all are just awesome, keeping this wonderful ship alive and going stronger and stronger each and every day. Our love for this amazing ship has brought us all together as a tight family, and I think for that, Advanceshipping is an amazing thing, and for that reason alone is enough for me, actually.

5-The Advance saga was the first one I ever saw. I remember being 8 or 9 and coming home from school, turning on the TV, and watching Pokémon. The show had action, subtle hints of romance, and of course, Pokémon. It got me into the whole series, from the games, to the manga, to the how, and best of all, the fanfictions. 4-I liked their relationship in general. To me, Misty was just to mean to him, and I just did not like her attitude. In fact, I didn't like her at all. Dawn to me, was a lot better then Misty, but she and Ash just didn't click for me. If time advanced,( see what I did there?), they would be at least 4 years apart. Cougar:P and she seemed to wild and crazy for Ash. May, like Ash, were both laid back, but knew when to get serious. They both also had a passion in them to keep going, and I loved that similarity. 3- The relationship between the two was just great, and it was kind of depicted. They truly were bestfriends. Ash always had her back and whenever she was upset, he could bring her spirits up faster then a Ninjask. May also knew how to control Ash's anger, like in the movie with Lucario. I also liked how Ash was a her, saving her from that Donphan, and also from the grass Pokémon. And the scene in the Manaphy movie where Ash almost died. And of course, the ribbon between the two will forever be in my heart. It was also great how their relationship progressed, with the classic bike frying, and as they grew closer and closer, the sad goodbye 2- How Ash changed because of May. Unlike with Misty, he had a sense of maturity and an overall improvement in his kindness. He really opened up his heart, and as a result, he helped May through a lot, if it was battling, helping her save her Pokémon, or just being there for her when she needed it. In the words of Beastmode953 himself, "You may not be the better girl, but you've made me the better guy." 1-Of course, the Advanceshipping community. We are all so caring, and do our best to help each other with our fanfictions, and in life if needed. It was thanks to all of you, that many people now are in fact, Advancers. I am one of these, a lot of you have helped me in my journey of writing. Even though it isn't that popular, I hope more people will read my story and leave their thoughts, as that's what encourages me to write on. I think every person here is fantastic, and we're more then an online group, we are family. Why? Because family is not who is blood related, it's who you love, and who loves you. We all love each other here, and that is the greatest gift of all. So thank you, Advanceshipping.

Ahhh, I loved reading everyone's answers to this! So heartfelt and compelling! *hugs everyone* 1 The Advanceshippers themselves, and I think Wubbzy and gmak6464 really explained it so beautifully. The Advanceshipping community has really come together so nicely as of late, and I'm so lucky to be friends with all of you! Moreover, we help keep this ship alive even after so many years have passed. 2. The hints. They may not be in your face or blatantly indicate that Ash and May are madly in ~*loooveee*~ but they do show the close bond that the two of them share, which is wonderful. 3. Their compatibility. I just love the dynamic between the two and how they interact with one another. They get along so nicely and have a great friendship. 4. The fanwork that comes along with it, which I suppose could tie into community but I think it stands for itself. We have some extremely talented people in this community, which has resulted in amazing pieces of fanart, awesome works of fanfiction, beautiful AMVs, and so on. 5. The nostalgia. This is more of a personal opinion rather than a general awesomeness about the pairing, but Advanceshipping has been such a huge part of my life for so many years and has been my OTP since the sixth grade. It brings back so many wonderful memories for me, and the ship is still to this day helping me create even more memories with all of you

1. I prefer this shipping so much more than any other Ash shippings. In my opinion, Pearlshipping-brother/sister, Pokeshipping-one sided. Ash and May are the closest thing to romance that Ash has ever encountered. Also, I hate love/hate relationships.
2. Fanart.
3. Fanfiction.
4. The community. You see, I browse through debate threads between CS and AS often, and I am often discouraged about AS's chances. However, the community is always there to encourage me about AS's value and chances of becoming canon.
5. The hints. Like S. Muffin said, I appreciate the hints because they show the close bond between the two. Unlike Contestshipping, which is a piss poor pairing that seems to be the parallel to Palletshipping, Advanceshipping actually forms off great friendship, which makes more sense than a f'ing rivalry.

1. I wouldn't been introduced to the internet if it weren't for the pairing.xD
2. The AG Saga was one of my favorites!<3 I would have given up on Pokemon since I was so used to the OS Saga and didn't like May as much at first.^^;
3. Ash imprinted a lasting impact upon May's Pokemon career as in he influenced her to love Pokemon as much as he did as well as following the dreams.
4. Ash and May's passion for food...xP Damn Ash, you could have gotten the perfect girl who enjoys pigging out as much as you do!XP
5. Having a movie w/ really strong hints...:3 POW RIGHT IN THE KISSER!

I'm gonna go with short, concrete evidence and use that to bash the others lightly on the head. 1. A physical object shared by both, the Terracotta Ribbon - each holds a piece of each other, Misty's napkin is only Ash's. 2. Bike Effect - all three of the main contested lady companions had bicycles, but ADV doesn't depend on a trivial object like a bike to explain May's reliance on Ash. 3. Similar Pokemon - Bulbasaur, Squirtle, not to mention the odd heart-shape birthmarks on May's Bulbasaur/Venusaur 4. Perilous life saving - Donphan rollout, falling off a cliff, Underwater Temple were all instances that May remembers vividly. Misty's save during Orange Islands wasn't even remembered by Ash (sadly) 5. Japanese neutrality - the english dub purposely altered the language of the second movie and a lot of the episodes to perpetuate the Pokeshipping audience. Knowing that the japanese writers intended neutral grounds from a cannon perspective, what they say in english is inadmissible, only actions matter.

5. 9th movie. Need I say more? 4. PikachuxGlaceon. It supports ADV, and I can't resist such a cute pairing. 3. The fan base is supportive and very creative. 2. They just click to me. Their relationship just seems to come naturally, and I can envision them together. 1. This site, of course. Without ADV, I'd have never met any of you amazing people! Thank goodness for ADV XD

1. The fans are amazing people, helpful, generous, and kind. I've only been on serebii and this website for less than 2 months, but the welcoming is just so positive - it really makes you want to stay with advanceshipping.
2. The terracotta ribbon they won together. As I recall from a previous episode - winning a ribbon together symbolizes an amazing connection and sync between 2 trainers. Roses die, but ribbons last forever. Mwahaha.
3. They have a great relationship (built on learning/teaching) and its not annoying to watch them interact - its actually fun. They also have many similarities - with food and Pokemon (bulbasaur, squirtle, munchlax/snorlax, beautifly/butterfree)
4. The 9th Pokemon movie. There were so many hints in there its just so hard to resist it.
5. The amazing creations done by fans - fanfics, fanarts, and amvs. I'm never bored finding new things to read/watch.
