The comment by "What?!?" sums the hybrid-dino nicely.... "Why the hell would you combine DNA from a T-rex, raptor, snake and cuttlefish? How about you throw in eagle and shark DNA so this killing machine can fly and breath underwater too." ^ Hollywood logic. Eh, realistically the reason for the recombined dino is obvious, but oh well. They could have taken a little from "The Lost World" novel instead of the cuttlefish. They had an active camuflauged dinosaur in there, though Because I'm in Green Bay right now I can't get to my book to check the species. I'm pretty sure it's a Carnotaurus. I remember coming across one while playing a Lost World arcade video game a while back and it had a camouflage ability that totally jacked me up. I need to read the books... >_< You must. I read the "Jurassic Park" novel. ONE OF THE BEST THINGS I'VE EVER READ. I tried reading "The Lost World" too, but I wound up forgetting about it because of stupid school and eventually had to return it. The only reason I think they made that dino is for the government/military. Nope.
According to many of the summaries I've seen, Jurassic World's tourism rates are declining badly. So, they decide to boost attendance by creating a brand-new dinosaur species. Check out the Wikipedia article if you don't believe me.

Well then... definitely going to read the books before the movie comes out. Even if they have nothing to do with the new movie. XD Thanos I hope that theories not true... I mean it makes sense that it'd boost demand and hype... but still...
Employee: "Yes, let's make a killing machine to boost attendance... nothing can go wrong. We have learned from our mistakes."
Just like in the last one... where they couldn;t handle regular dinosaurs.... Now there's room to make entirely NEW mistakes that they're not ready for. *Facepalm*

To be honest, I know for a fact that it's legit. I'm pretty sure you can Google "Jurassic World summary" and all of the sources you can find there will confirm it.
I agree that it sounds stupid, though. They'd better make an excuse as to why that new corporation is being so ignorant.

OMG... that trailer let us see much more of the velociraptors! <3 And now I'm more hyped. So that training theory was true... he's like papa raptor.
AND YEESSS. It's gonna be so good with actual people in the park when the dinosaurs get out.... I always wanted to see a park full of people when dino's got out.
it reminds me of when I used to play Zoo Tycoon... I'd fill the park with animals then release them to eat people.... lololol. XD

XD I've got mixed feelings about the trained raptors. My Jurassic Park experience so far has taught me that the raptors must always be big baddies! But I'll see how the film treats it. THE PEOPLE PAID GOOD BUCKS TO SEE PEOPLE GET EATEN BY DINOS IN THE FIRST THREE MOVIES! OF COURSE THIS MUST DELIVER! ...Wha?... XD

Eh, definitely an interesting batch. Though the base is definitely Giganotosaurus, the others were more medium sized. Either apex on island habitats or secondary predators. In fact they're all from the same family, lol. All with real bulldog-like bites. Never was impressed by Majungasaurus and found it's single horn kinda funny.
Have to question the 50km/hr. Definitely fast but a biped that big, going that fast? Trip once at that speed and you're out.
Better stop trying to analyze this though, my biology is showing...

But then rereading some of the things about Giganotosaurus, they say it was up to 50 km/hr. Oh well. Honestly seems like the others then were added just for some osteoderms and hornletts. Giganotosaurus by itself is a damn beast. Wonderif they'll show Agentinosaurus along with it? Might as well showcase not only the sauropod that lived beside it but also the largest dinosaur yet found.

LuciferIX What I'm confused about is why the Indominus Rex isn't bigger than the Tyrannosaurus Rex. I mean, T-rex has been popularly stated to be around 40 feet long, and I-Rex is a foot shorter than that. If Giganotosaurus is the primary basis for the I-Rex, and it's bigger than T-Rex, then why not I-Rex?

If Giganotosaurus is the primary basis for the I-Rex, and it's bigger than T-Rex, then why not I-Rex? Probably because of the influence of the little guys I guess. I mean Giganotosaurus is in a class above those others in size and strength as it is one of the few super-predators of history, so probably for whatever reason they added the others in and it compacted it. Although none of them were really overly known for their agility, the smaller size would add that in compensation. Personally I would probably leave out the average large theropods and add in specific genes from smaller ones such as the various raptor species. Even putting the movies aside, they were supposedly as smart as dinosaurs really got. So you have the size and brain power, with possibly several of the more auxiliary weapons that the raptor family has that large theropods didn't. Not much else needed to create a powerful new predator.
