Even if only one episode is confirmed at the moment, if the ratings are good and the episode is received well among the fanbase, maybe that will act as a catalyst for future special episodes within the same setting. It could be a one-time thing, sure, but you never know.
The best thing we can do is make sure we watch the episode when it's released and send our feedback (via Twitter, for example).
I really hope they see the interest and fan response happening at the moment. A lot of fans have been bored with the same old stuff for the past several years and are really looking forward to something fresh. Granted, we aren't exactly the target market for the show but it's still important to let your voice be heard!

Pharah - Yeah pretty much. I mean while it's not a complete comparison the same thing happened to Toonami. Adult Swim brought it back as part of their April Fools Day special and the outcry was enough that they asked if people really wanted it back. Now it's apart of the Saturday night block.

I just wish it wasn't on so late in the night. I can't stay up that late. |

I just wish it wasn't on so late in the night. I can't stay up that late. Tried record it, so you can watch it later on, if you have a Directv. I don't have DirecTV. |

I'm just confused... How can this be just ONE special episode, if we see Blue with a Blastoise and Red with a Charizard, when he had a Charmander just before? Either this is a bunch of flashbacks and such, or this is ONE DRAWN OUT EPISODE. Personally, I don't even care, it's the FREAKING ORIGINAL GAME. It just doesn't get much better than that! Someone kick Ash out the window, and bring them in! Please? :') I'd be living my childhood again! And with the older music to boot I hope!
(PS, that Charmander... that Charmander is in the top percentage! Eat it JOEY!)

I can see a continuing series of specials revolving around the other player characters all the way from Gold and Silver to Nate and Rosa. Sure, it's a bit of a long shot, but hopefully the first two will at least get them. And did anyone else notice that between receiving Charmander and the "final rival battle" Red changed from his original outfit to his FrLg one? |

Dude... It took Ash about... 50 episodes to get done with the Indigo League, and those two looked like they were in 'Final Battle Mode', so I doubt an hour and a half could cut it, but eh, I don't mind either way. As long as it represents the game/manga justly, I don't care ^_^ I'd be excited if he made a five second cameo somewhere lol.

Here's what Ithink will happen. The first half of the special will cover how they got their first Pokemon and how their first gym battle went. The second half of the special will time skip to their final battle at the end of the Elite 4.
