Hey, guys! I'm Pichu, and I'm here today with your PokeNews!
Now, a lot of you probably already know about the news announced yesterday from the Corocoro leaks, but in case you didn't check the Internet yesterday, you probably haven't heard about the newest thing in Pokemon: Mega-Evolutions!
Yes, you heard right, Mega-Evolutions! As of Generation 6, six Pokemon will have the ability to evolve into new Mega forms with the use of special Mega Stones. These Pokemon are Blaziken, Lucario, Absol, Mawile, Mewtwo, and Ampharos. Now, this is only possible in battle and is temporary. You can only get these special Pokemon through events as the Mega Stones aren't found in normal gameplay. Something called the Master Tower has a connection to the Mega-Evolutions. Not all Pokemon will have Mega-Evolutions, but more will be announced next month. We don't have all of the exact details on it yet, but here's what we know:
First off, Blaziken now can Mega-Evolve into MegaBlaziken with the ability Speed Boost. When the game comes out on October 12th, a special distribution of Torchic with the Speed Boost ability and a held item known as Blazikenite, Blaziken's Mega Stone.
Next, Lucario will Mega-Evolve into MegaLucario with the ability Adaptability. His Attack stat will be a lot higher than Lucario's. He evolves with the Mega Stone Lucarionite.
Also, Absol will Mega-Evolve into MegaAbsol with the ability Magic Bounce and he will have increased Attack and Speed stats.
Then, Mawile, who is now a Steel/Fairy-type, will Mega-Evolve into MegaMawile with the ability Huge Power.
Ampharos will Mega-Evolve into MegaAmpharos with a new Electric/Dragon typing and the ability Mold Breaker.
Finally, we know what Mewtwo's new form is. Mewtwo will Mega-Evolve into MegaMewtwo with the ability Insomnia.
Now, in the very unlikely case that you don't believe me, here's a video for proof.
Besides these new Mega-Evolutions, we got a few other announcements as well.
Three new Pokemon were announced yesterday. First, the rabbit is known as Bunnelby. It has the new special ability Cheek Pouches, which allows a Pokemon to gain HP as well as use a Berry's benefits if they are holding a Berry and eat it in battle. Second, the rodent is an Electric/Fairy-type known as Dedenne. It has the Pick Up or Cheek Pouches abilities and it can use a new attack called Nuzzle, which can do damage while Paralyzing an opponent. Third, Gogoat's pre-evolution is known as Skiddo, and it too is rideable in the field. Its ability is Sap Sipper.
As well, a new, roller-skating gym leader Koruni was announced, and she knows the secret to Mega-Evolutions. Then, a Super Training facility was announced that helps to raise Pokemon's EVs.
That's all I have right now. Next month, Corocoro will showcase new Pokemon, new Mega-Evolutions, and we'll finally know how Fairy-type works with other types. Until then, I'm Pichu, and this has been your PokeNews!
