When you get an un-nicknamed Pokemon from another country it'll have that language's name but when you evolve it the game will use the English name because that's what it's set to show. You should still get the foreign data in the Pokedex though and it'll stay a Japanese Pokemon for breeding purposes as well.

Lightning - Interesting choice, where are the Togepi in the game? Or do you get some from the Friend Safari?
