Admittedly, I haven't followed the Pokemon series since DP (even then I hardly ever watched it, just tried to keep up-to-date with what was happening), but I agree that it is nice to see them putting a little more effort into the quality of the animation and the character designs!

Don't worry, same here. In fact, I really stopped watching Pokemon after May left, and returned only briefly to watch the Wallace Cup arc. *sigh* Still hoping for Hoenn remakes xD

Yep, that's exactly how it went with me. I stayed relatively committed to the fanbase and the community, but lost interest in the actual show itself once May left. I tried to keep up, but I just didn't really have any interest in it at the time.
I'm really hoping for remakes, too! Or at the very least, more cameos. It'd be nice if they changed up the cast a little more often.

Well, it could be a lot worse...like Pikachu, who's taken on even legendaries and won, could lose to a level 5 Snivy that just happens to know Leaf Tornado early...Oh, wait, that happened!

*facepalms* Just hearing about those kinds of things from you guys makes me really disappointed...ugh, I wish the writers would just do a time skip or something! I know it's supposed to be a kid's show and some elements of the show may be lost, but there are so many older fans, too, myself included, who would really enjoy a more mature version of Pokemon

Yes. I would like to see a time skip. Although, for all we know, this could be the last generation. Then again, they have Ash possibly getting 10 badges this time because he's getting the two extra ones. Well, Gary isn't special anymore.

Hahaha xD But yeah, you're right, we'll just have to wait and see what happens next. I think it's different for us because most of us have grown up with the show since day one, so to have that kind of time skip would be only natural development for us older fans, where as the kids who are watching Pokemon now have probably never ever seen the original first few seasons. That is such a strange thing to think about...kids today might not have seen the original Pokemon.

Or the Johto or Hoenn seasons. Or possibly not even the Sinnoh saga.

Tell me about it. I mean, I get that the Pokemon anime is starting to turn into a Let's-repeat-the-same-template-again-and-again-because-it-worked-the-first-time, but seriously? The whole "trading in the girl at the start of the new season" and "gotta be the very best!" motifs are getting old. :/

Yeah, and Iris is just plain annoying. Cilan isn't much better, but I really can't stand Iris.

Or the Johto or Hoenn seasons. Or possibly not even the Sinnoh saga. Those are the only seasons my future children will ever be allowed to watch xD Tell me about it. The whole "trading in the girl at the start of the new season" and "gotta be the very best!" motifs are getting old. :/ Agreed. As sad as it would be to see Pokemon end for nostalgic reasons, sometimes I just think that it really might be about time they put it to bed before they completely ruin all the wonderful things about the show :/ It's true that it does work for newer generations of kids watching the show, but when you have a franchise that's been around as long as Pokemon has, your audience isn't simply kids anymore.

As the visual affects get better in the anime, the story suffers. Ergo, the older audience suffers as well.

At least it wasn't right after he tied with a Latios... *sigh* This show has been spiraling downward since he showed his face. I think his Darkrai put everyone into a nightmare after the Sinnoh League, and the nightmare is the events that happened afterwards.

You know, that makes a lot of sense, actually.
