From what people are speculating is that John Hurt is simply the aged 8th Doctor who forsook his name as the Doctor during that time. Thus, when he regenerated to Eccleston, he simply discarded that man as the Doctor. Or, it could be Doctor that regenerated but became something he never wanted to be so, again, the next incarnation simply chose to be the 9th Doctor, knowing while he had regenerated, he wasn't the same person as before. Damn you, Moffat!

Damn you, Moffat! It probably helps that Moffat was fan and came up with his own theories before he became writer for the series.

True, though he left so many questions unanswered. At least RTD attempted to close all plotholes. Other than that, Moffat is a decent writer.

I just saw the 50th Anniversary episode and it was f***ing awesome! There was a dramatic retelling of how Doctor Who came to be afterwards and it just left me with the biggest smile on my face.

Now with Gallifrey possibly coming back, this leads to a whole new direction!

So who here saw the new episode of Doctor Who? I thought that it was pretty good. That phone call near the end though.

So who here saw the new episode of Doctor Who? I thought that it was pretty good. That phone call near the end though. Deep Breath was awesome and love the throwbacks. To be honest, people were using their camera phones to record the filming with that particular scene, so I knew it was going to happen. However, I loved it regardless. Also, the phone call from Matt Smith was taken during The Time of the Doctor.
