So I shouldn't be a regular administrator/moderator? Judging by how the banner was set up I seem a lot more knowing about webdev than most here… not that I expect anyone to get in to that stuff, hence why I want to help out. There's going to be a lot more similar obstacles than just that image.

You'll have to wait for Angelo to get back to decide that one. We may be admins, but to be honest things are still up in the air with how things will work.

This place helped me by being able to talk about my love for advanceshipping.
Usually, I'm really secretive to my RL friends, so I have no one to talk to about this (especially my writing, because I'm afraid of what they'll think). Most of my friends wouldn't get it. They know pokemon and know I'm obsessed with it, but they just don't like it to the point where we can have discussions like we usually do here.
Also, this let's me talk about stuff on fanfiction too (because deep down, I really do want them to read my stuff and help me improve my writing because they are grammar nazi), but just can't do it since I am so private about this. However, here, I know we all like the same thing, so it makes me feel secure enough to talk about all the things I want to, and eases my mind instead of having to bottle all this stuff in (since I can't really tell my friends things that frustrate me regarding this stuff).

WubbzyI understand completely. I can't really tell most of my friends in real life, even the ones that like Pokemon. They just don't understand.

Most of this is very true. I feel the same way. Most of my friends won't get jack of what I'm saying, or they just know misty. I also like how "connected" we all can be, where I can keep in contact with almost everyone.

This community really helps me. Most of my friends and family reall don't watch anime, so it's awesome to be surrounded by people who share the same interests as me. There's only one other person who likes Pokemon, but he's a Pokeshipper.... Took me a short while to convince him to convert to Advanceshipping....
And lots of idols on here, that I actually talked to them..... And since I'm a beginner, people on here can help me with my writing and I can improve, so yeah...

Here. If you really want me to be a dick how about each mod is required a weekly fgoal of bringing in one new person. It's one person. Not hard. At least ten new people a week. I'm not trying to be a dick beastmode it's just that you never know what will happen. They might be angry and do something they might regret, it probably won't happen but the chances that it might increase with all these people that have power.

I like the AdvanceShipping community because of my astounding connectability with everyone here. Half of the stuff I think of and want to talk about that aren't even to do with Pokémon—much less 'shipping—are unvoicable anywhere in my life but here.
The internet is an astounding place that I got incredibly lucky enough to find and be a part of. The internet is unprecenented in mere concept – this place just eighty years ago was an obvious age-old philisophical dream, and now here we are. People in North America can talk to people in Southeast Asia, people in Australia can converse with people in western Europe. Not only that, these people on opposite sides of the planet can form together as the closest of friends, knowing each other as if the two grew up together as kids who met in grade school.
As many have established before, our group is akin to practical family, and only weeks ago the rigid restrictions of fan forum giants kept all of us from ever socializing on even a basic personal level with one another. We're forming our own community with our own rules, and all internally governing it the way we please - it's something I would've never experienced without stumbling upon that old VA-bought Gateway in 2003 at the Hideaway in Westerville, Columbus, Ohio back when I was a first grader, since it was what set in motion the cascade that brought me all the way here to this world-within-a-world.

As for what this community has done for me, it's given me a lot of great friendships and has given me an online family. A family that accepts me and my interests, a family I can talk about Pokemon and Advanceshipping with, and a family that's always been extremely supportive of me. What more could I ever ask for?
