What was your whole interpretation of it? Does it make u like narusaku more and consider a hint, or do u think it was a botch move?

Okay, so this is my opinion on the whole fake confession.
I don't consider it a hint, but I don't think it was a real bitch move. Like, I see Sakura's intentions and I can understand where she's coming from. The way she did this was very unnecessary.
But from the way I see it, I feel that Sakura's intentions were good. She was doing this for Naruto. What she was trying to do was get Naruto to stop chasing Sasuke, but the way she did it, as I said, wasn't really necessary.
Man, I need to reread it to explain more. I don't really consider this a hint, but I don't think it was a botch move either. xD

I agree with Aly. I'm tired of people hating on Sakura for this. We've all put our feet in our mouths and, even with the best intentions, said something really stupid to someone we care about. She felt guilty because Naruto was agonizing over Sasuke for her sake. She didn't want him to carry the burden of her pain over losing Sasuke. She wanted to relieve him of all that stress and stop Sasuke once and for all. She desperately wanted to find a way to convince him to forget about Sasuke.
Was it the best plan ever? No. No one is saying that it is. But of course, as usual, most people ignore all the good in Sakura in favor of pointing out all her flaws.
People like Sasuke and other male character villains are awesome, well-rounded characters despite the fact they're utter douchebags. But as soon as a female character fucks up? Oh man, what a bitch! I hope she dies in a fire! Female characters can't be human and make mistakes, otherwise we'll hate them forever! How dare you, women!
Sexism at its finest.

I wasn't being a sexist. I still ship narusaku. I just wanted to get an opinion on it since I never watched that far

And everyone does forget all the good she's done, like seriously. -___- To be honest, she's one of my favorite characters, and sometimes I do go, "Noooo, why, Sakura?" but that's only because when she does make a mistake, I fear what other people are going to say. -____-

Same. People are very quick to persecute a female character when she fucks up. It's like, just because they're female, they have to be perfect all the time or no one will like them. And then even when they are perfect all the time, they get called Mary Sues. Sakura, unfortunately, is only one of the many female characters who gets bashed because of this. But that's another story entirely xD

No, I know you didn't intend for that, and I wasn't saying that you did. But when it comes to criticizing Sakura, many other people tend to follow that mindset, sometimes not always intending to.

Sexism at its finest.Hard to say: "Please just stop chase Sasuke... I won't hold you up for your promise anymore." Or just simply say that she's stopped loving him (which also was a lie). But, no. Sakura would be a bitch and play with Naruto's very strong feelings for her, even though she knew it, and fake-confess to him... And Sasuke? "awesome well-rounded character"? In which way? He's just a brooding, vengeful, cry-baby, fanservice-character... I dislike him even more than Sakura, so don't worry about sexism. I also disliked Sakura long before her "confession", due to her undeserving violence towards Naruto (some may call it humor, but I don't - he had a hard enough childhood to put up with that crap), and let's not forget her extremely shallow fangirl-crush that miraculously developed to a die-hard love for some unexplainable reason... a perfect example of "Douches gets all the girls while the nice ones don't". Also, would you REALLY be surprised if a manga/anime promotes sexism? The Japanese has barely accepted homosexuals, much less cared about female rights. Though, this is just my opinion.

Though, this is just my opinion. i agree and disagree with you on both points. Yes Naruto did have a tough enough childhood but so did sasuke. If my whole life mission was a lie and my parents were killed by my brother for a mission, fuck the clan. It's a wrap for them. Every last one of them will die. But that's me. Whether or not my family had bad Intentions or good,I want my payback for the fuckers that had them killed. As for sakura, she reminds me of misty which really fucking bugs me. But also, her intentions were also good. The way she came out with it was fucked up but yeah e hitting and abuse pisses me off too. I'm like what a bitch. But I hate hinata more than I hate her so I go with sakura on this. She is caring but fuck y u gotta hit Naruto. And it's not about "Douches gets all the girls while the nice guys don't". Nice guys have intentions of their own when being nice so it is actually kind of manipulating to do nice things to get what u want. And it's not that they're too nice,it's that they are predictable. Women would rather pick the unpredictable douche that the predictable nice guy. It's not about nice or assholeish it's about who can provide more of an emotion in her than the other. Big that makes sense. Ok with that done,no more sexism talk please. Both you you make VERY GOOD POINTS!! But please I don't want this to be a sex thing please....we've had enough trouble with disagreements the last couple months

Sasuke's mind: "I want to DESTROY KONOHA! Slaughter every civilian women and child for what a couple of half-dead geezers decided!" Though, now we just have to wait and see to what his new "mission" is... You dislike Sakura for hitting Naruto... yet you dislike Hinata for... being too caring/modest...? "Nice guys have intentions of their own when being nice so it is actually kind of manipulating to do nice things to get what u want. And it's not that they're too nice,it's that they are predictable."? Can you really see Naruto has a hidden agenda? And Sasuke was rather clear with his goal... But, yeah, let's drop sexism. Again: I don't see this manga as any sexism. I just have a hard time to accept shallow and emotionally weak characters that people claim are "the best". That's why I kinda ship SasuSaku, because I dislike both of them

Also, would you REALLY be surprised if a manga/anime promotes sexism? The Japanese has barely accepted homosexuals, much less cared about female rights. Though, this is just my opinion. First, I didn't say I thought he was a well-rounded character. That is not my opinion of him. I was pointing out the double standards that exist in some part of the fandom, because that is what a lot of people say of him. A lot of people kiss Sasuke's ass and think his personality makes him a good character, whereas they absolutely hate on Sakura. Second, Sakura's excessive violence towards Naruto is mostly anime added. It's not nearly as present in the manga. Take the anime with a huge grain of salt, because it absolutely butchers her character. She was also a child when she developed feelings for Sasuke. I know you probably don't understand the inner mechanisms of a twelve-year-old girl's mind, so I'm not going to go into this point much further other than she's supposed to be a human being and us humans don't always make rational decisions when it comes to loving people. I feel like the same thing can be said for Naruto and Sasuke. When the hell did they become best friends? I didn't really see much development in terms of their friendship. It's all kind of just implied they bonded. Third, does that make sexism okay? Is it okay for fans to hate on female characters more than male characters and place higher expectations on them more than they do for male characters? No. Sakura gets a lot of unnecessary hate simply because she's a girl, while the male characters who are far worse than her are somehow thought of as good characters. That's all I'm saying.

Well, Sasuke fans (also commonly as "Uchiha-wankers", in some forums) are idolizing him because he's to perfect type that they want to be/have - a dark, handsome, calm, popular, strong, "I don't give a F"-guy... kinda sad, but that's the truth. While Sakura doesn't even give us good fanservice... so it's probably more of that the readers are like: "What? She can't even do that? What purpose does she serve?" But you have to admit that Kishi (the author) DOES keeps forgetting the female characters - or just making them really weak.
True, I don't understand a twelve-year-old girl's mind... I don't even understand a grown one's... But I still have a hard time to believe a kid's crush be so strong for no apparent reason... Oh, well. Guess people think that sort of thing's cute, or something...
And I totally agree with you on the Naruto-Sasuke relationship... I wait for the day when Naruto wakes up and decides to just give up on the douche. But, then again, it's mostly one-sided from Naruto - which can be somewhat explained from his childhood, that he suffered from loneliness... so now he's desperately trying to preserve all friendships he can.
And Sakura doesn't really get bashed just because she's a girl, either. I guess just fans expect more from her, since she's a main along with Sasuke (the fan-service idol) and Naruto (the 'chosen one'). While she's just a love-struck, violent medic that's not really special in any way (except her rather good chackra control).
So, I have to disagree with you. Sakura doesn't get a lot of hate because she's a girl - she gets a lot of hate because she's a bad character.

I think it's kind of a hint. I think her feelings are real, but she portrayed them in probably the worst way possible. Her intentions were good, but her speech seemed unbelievable.

Okay, so I told myself I wasn’t even going to go this route, but you know what, I don’t care anymore, and I’m just going to be straight up about this and say it… I think Sakura loves Naruto, and she wasn’t lying about that. What I saw was Naruto blushing until she ended up talking about Sasuke, and how she was over him. I think that’s what she was lying about. I feel she sincerely loves Naruto, but she was lying about not having feelings for Sasuke, which is clear here, Naruto even sees it and that’s what he calls her out on.
feel like Sakura is bashed because she makes a bunch of mistakes, and that’s because she’s portrayed as a teenage girl (for me, one of the most realistic characters on Naruto), but that just tells me she’s a flawed character like any good character should be in my opinion, but I feel that’s what people hate her for.
But I’m going to stop myself now before I say something I shouldn’t say.
